The Founders

Marcin Marynczak

Co-founder and Master Carpenter

Marcin has over twenty-five years’ experience in design-led residential joinery across North and Central London. He runs his own construction firm with a dedicated small team who’ve been working with him for years. His workshop in Basildon, Essex, is where every Stave kitchen will be made by hand.

Shyamoli Burman Saha

Co-founder and Designer

Trained as a doctor in London, Shyamoli has lived and worked in North London since. She continues to practise medicine alongside Stave, with a particular interest in how homes support wellbeing for neurodivergent households. She took her first design course at University of the Arts London in 2018 and continues to study design there. Shyamoli and her husband have renovated two North London houses for their own family with Marcin.

Shyamoli grew up in a household where music, art and food was central. Several members of her family are painters, and their work has been around her since childhood. Some of their paintings hang in the home that became the studio’s first project; the kitchens take their colours from them.

The partnership

Shyamoli and Marcin have been working together for nine years. Stave is the continuation of that — a studio and a workshop with a shared way of doing things: careful design, careful making, from first sketch to final fitting.
